Creative Workshops

A Creative Journey of Infinite Possibilities...

Every human being is born with the infinite ability to create.  Creativity requires no money, no materials, no extraordinary strength or exceptional intellect.  It only requires the freedom and courage to play with the resources of the mind and body.

Freeing the Creative Spirit™ is a fun, exhilarating workshop that empowers participants to recognize their unique abilities and learn to employ them.  Created and led by Dr. Suzanne Shoemaker, principal in the firm of Acts of Creation, this workshop aims to give each participant new tools and techniques to improve their communications skills, to think creatively and to enhance their overall quality of life.

In addition to our trademarked programs “Climbing the Wall” and “The ROI of Change”, the workshop utilizes role playing and case studies in its teaching and preaching.  Whether you’re a youth group that seeks to focus and direct unlimited creative potential, or a corporate team that’s lost its creative edge, Acts of Creation will formulate an effective workshop just for you from our additional programs in multi-cultural awareness training, negotiating, closing, managing fear and developing creativity in organizations.

Creative thinking requires creative doing.  Creative doing requires the freedom to risk!

Consider these inspirational words by the German poet, Goethe:

Until one is committed,
There is hesitancy,
The chance to draw back,
Always ineffectiveness.
Whatever you can do,
Or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.
Begin it now.

Acts of Creation is a creative development and production company that also co-founded and produces the International Family Film Festival (IFFF) at Valencia, California, now beginning its 11th year.

Dr. Shoemaker earned her Ph. D. in Theater from the University of Missouri and did post-doctorate work at Oxford.  Contributing to the development of Freeing the Creative Spirit and participating in running workshops are: Chris Shoemaker and Chris Welch.  Mr. Shoemaker graduated with a BFA in Theater from The Ohio State University and studied with the International Circus School and at the world renowned L’Ecole Jacques LeCoq Studio in Paris.  Mr. Welch studied architecture at UC Berkeley and obtained his MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA.

The Acts of Creation team has worked in the creative arts as teachers and guides for over thirty years.  The introductory and advanced workshops employ hands-on experiences that lead the participants through a series of activities that dramatically open their creative minds and impulses.  These workshops begin the process of freeing and articulating participants’ active, inner voices.
